Topher's Toy Run Turns 20: 300+ Riders Kick Off a Season of Giving

In Leesport, Pennsylvania, the 20th Annual Topher's Toy Run brought more than 300 people together on Sunday to benefit Toys for Tots, WFMZ reported. The goal, in the station's words, was to "ride, give, and make the holidays merrier for local families."

The ride

Attendees were encouraged to bring their motorcycles, their families and a new, unwrapped toy for a child in need. After gathering at the dealership, riders headed out on a police-escorted ride to FirstEnergy Stadium for the annual Toy Run celebration, which continued with a party in the plaza and pictures with Santa.

More than toys

The run also marked the start of a Season of Giving collection benefiting Hope Rescue Mission. WFMZ listed the most-needed items: clothing, shoes, belts, hats, scarves and coats for all ages; new men's underwear, gloves, undershirts and sweatpants in sizes M to XXXXL; and deodorant, razors and toothbrushes. Organizers said anyone who donates a toy or a requested item gets a raffle ticket for a Season of Giving party on Saturday, December 19.

Twenty years is a long run for any event. It says a lot about the riders who keep showing up.
