Choose Your Sizing Method
- Method A: Use a Wrench
- Method B: Use Your Phone or Tablet
- Method C: Print a Ring Sizer
- Method D: Measure a Ring That Fits
- Method E: String or Paper Method
Method A: Measure Your Finger Using a Wrench
No ring sizer? Grab a wrench. Slide your finger into the inside opening of the wrench and use the inside diameter as a quick size estimate.
Important: Use the inside of the wrench opening, not the outside.
| Ring Size | Diameter | SAE Wrench Estimate |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | 14.9mm | ~9/16" |
| 5 | 15.7mm | ~5/8" loose |
| 6 | 16.5mm | ~5/8" |
| 7 | 17.3mm | ~11/16" |
| 8 | 18.1mm | ~11/16"–3/4" |
| 9 | 18.9mm | ~3/4" |
| 10 | 19.8mm | ~3/4" |
| 11 | 20.6mm | ~13/16" |
| 12 | 21.4mm | ~13/16"–7/8" |
| 13 | 22.2mm | ~7/8" |
| 14 | 23.0mm | ~7/8"–15/16" |
| 15 | 23.8mm | ~15/16" |
| 16 | 24.6mm | ~1" |
| 17 | 25.4mm | ~1" |
| 18 | 26.2mm | ~1-1/16" |
| 19 | 27.0mm | ~1-1/16"–1-1/8" |
| 20 | 27.8mm | ~1-1/8" |
Method B: Use Your Smartphone or Tablet
Use the image below with a coin to scale the guide correctly. Place a quarter, dime, nickel, or penny over the matching coin image. Pinch or zoom until the coin lines up perfectly.
Once the coin is the correct size, place a ring you already own over the circles to find your size.
- Use a ring that fits the finger you want to wear the new ring on.
- Match the inside edge of the ring to the closest circle.
- If you are between sizes, order the larger size.

Sizes and measurements are approximate.
Method C: Print a Ring Sizer
Print the ring sizer at 100% scale. Do not shrink or scale the page in your printer settings.
- Print the ring sizer.
- Cut out the sizer.
- Cut a slit for Slot A.
- Wrap the sizer around the finger where the ring will be worn.
- Pull Tab B through Slot A until snug.
- The number aligned with Slot A is your ring size.
Tip: Make sure the sizer can slide over your knuckle. If you are between sizes, order the larger size.
Method D: Measure a Ring That Fits
Use a ring that already fits the intended finger. Measure the inside diameter of the ring and match it to the chart below.
| US Ring Size | Inside Diameter |
|---|---|
| 4 | 14.9mm |
| 5 | 15.7mm |
| 6 | 16.5mm |
| 7 | 17.3mm |
| 8 | 18.1mm |
| 9 | 18.9mm |
| 10 | 19.8mm |
| 11 | 20.6mm |
| 12 | 21.4mm |
| 13 | 22.2mm |
| 14 | 23.0mm |
| 15 | 23.8mm |
| 16 | 24.6mm |
| 17 | 25.4mm |
| 18 | 26.2mm |
| 19 | 27.0mm |
| 20 | 27.8mm |
Method E: String or Paper Method
- Cut a strip of paper or string no wider than 3/4".
- Wrap it around the base of the finger.
- Mark where the paper or string overlaps.
- Measure the length with a ruler.
- Use the measurement to estimate your size.

Still Not Sure?
If you are between sizes, order the larger size. Bigger rings are usually easier to work with than rings that are too tight.
