Sophia Matilda Briggs was born in October 1870. She was aboard because her mother was aboard, and her mother was aboard because her father didn't want to be away another year.

Her toys were still in the cabin. Her clothes were folded. Whatever happened on the morning of 25 November, someone carried her into a lifeboat, and that lifeboat was never found.
